Summary of Beijing Western Food Association
Beijing Western Food Association (Abbreviating to BWFA) is a non-profit organization according to “the regulation of registering management to social organizations” which promulgated by Chinese State Council and approved by Beijing Social Organizations Management Office. It is the unique trade guild (registration number: 0011356 organization code: 50031355-6)in western-style food business which has individual corporate qualification.

As an unofficial organization, BWFA is composed by enterprises and service organizations of western style food business and individuals such as chefs, managers, experts and scholars in western style food field. President of BWFA is elected democratically by its members. And the first round of the Standing Council is constituted by entrepreneurs who have abundant market and management experiences.

BWFA is the outcome of Chinese market economy development and served as an important part of international food trade. It includes dinner restaurants, leisure restaurants, western snack, cafes, bars, bakeries, ice-cream stores, and the suppliers of kitchen appliances, such as table ware, wines, condiment excluding Chinese food. It is an authoritative, professional, and academic entity.

BWFA was established on January 19, 2004. Following to the tenet that “spread western-style food culture, boom western-style food market, advance cooperation between china and overseas countries, enrich life of the public, enhance culture level”, it establishes a communication bridge between enterprises and government to help then understand each other and offers many services such as building guild regulations, organizing skill competition, training employees, confirming qualifications and so on in order to lead western-style food business to sustain development and improve western style food enterprises survival and development environment. It helps western food enterprises to solve difficulties in business and to increase economic profit and self-product capability. It becomes a big family where its members respect for each other and achieve joint development via cooperation.

Aim to the goal that “prospering western style food markets, developing western style food commerce, enriching quality of people’s life and promoting culture level”, BWFA sets up an information communication channel between its members. It also provides legal aid, policy consult, and helps to popularize new technique, which enhances communications between restaurant representation in China and in overseas.
